  • To all on the Easter course, we at BRNC are sending up a team of 6 junior officers from a broad spectrum of branches. They are hand picked for their enthusiasm and 'good looks'?? Please do pick their brains, they have the most up to date information on AIB and joining the RN.
The lead BRNC officer attending is S/Lt All 6'7" 'Big Al' Martin
I hope you all have a wonderful course - what a way to spend Easter!

  • Hi, my name is Tom Ritchie. I am 17 and am currently studing for my A levels at Chichester High School Sixth Form. The subjects I am studing are: Geography, Psychology and BTEC National Award In Sport And Fitness.

The reason I want to do this course is because I would like to be a pilot (ideally in the Royal Navy) and I know it will be a great experience.

My interests are: Swimming, Golf (handicap 11), Tennis, Squash and Table Tennis. I used to swim for the county when I was younger. I play for Chichester and Goodwood junior Golf team. I have also represented Chichester at Tennis and Squash.

It should be a good week, I am looking forward to meeting you all.

    See you there.

    Best wishes

  • Hello, my names Ryan and my home town is Southampton (although I don’t support the football team!)

I’m currently at Barton Peveril College studying Business, Accounting, English Language and History which I thoroughly enjoy. My main Hobbies are Golf (Handicap often varies from a 9 – 12) football, the gym and Karate in which I have gained the honour of reaching black belt status. Furthermore I had the privilege of becoming head boy at my previous school which enabled me to take on more responsibility and awareness over the students of the school.

I was also a member of the Air Training Corps, and was there for nearly four years as I’ve had a keen interest in flying since a very young age. I feel that my experience at the ATC has enabled me to progress and gain an insight into the world of aviation, and has enabled me to progress up the rank ladder and achieving the role of Flight Sergeant. Nevertheless I have also gained a BTEC award for aviation studies and I am now looking to hopefully join the Fleet Air Arm for my future career. I am always keen to take on new challenges and I enjoy meeting new people as it’s always an experience, and my main ethos would always be the classic “There is no I in Team”

I’m looking forward to meeting you all, and after reading some of your blog entries it sounds like it should be a good week and I look forward to meeting you all.

    Best Wishes

    Ryan
